No stranger to charitable works, Hall of Fame boxing trainer Teddy Atlas, along with the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation, was in the giving spirit once again last week — donating school supplies, as well as backpacks and personal protective equipment to local schoolchildren who returned to their respective classrooms last month.
Among the local recipients were students of PS 373, PS 57, PS 44, PS 21, PS 59, and South Richmond High School, as well as individual families and students of District 45 in Brooklyn

Two kindergarteners proudly display the backpacks they received from the Atlas Foundation.
The Dr. Atlas Foundation donated 350 backpacks in total, and the Investors Bank Foundation showed support via a $5,000 financial contribution.
Atlas, a lifelong Staten Islander, recognizes the direness of the times.
“In these new and difficult times, one thing remains the same; kids going back to school and their need for supplies,” said Atlas.
“The Dr. Atlas Foundation is once again proud to help our communities’ youth by partnering with Investors Foundation to donate 350 backpacks and supplies to students. We will continue to always invest in our greatest resource; the youth in our neighborhoods,” he concluded.
