The El Paso International Airport’s New $27.5 Million Checked Baggage Inspection System

A training exercise will take place at El Paso International Airport at different times from Tuesday through Thursday, with a full-scale emergency simulation planned for Friday morning.

The live fire training will not be at the terminal and should not affect flight operations or travelers, city officials said.

The public might see smoke and emergency vehicles around the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Station at 101 George Perry Blvd. as part of a simulated incident, officials said in a news release.

The training will involve simulations of an airplane accident and an airplane fire, a city spokeswoman said
