Man busts through nursing home doors: North Ridgeville police blotter

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio

Burglary: Lear Nagle Road

Police were dispatched after a man broke through the front doors at a nursing home and rehabilitation center. The suspect refused to comply with commands and attempted to move further into the building. He was arrested and transported to the hospital for an evaluation. After being released he was charged with burglary, disorderly conduct-intoxication and resisting arrest; he was transferred to Lorain County Jail.

Stolen vehicle: Chestnut Ridge Road

On September 24, a resident was contacted by a Cleveland woman complaining that his truck, marked with his business’s name, was blocking her driveway. The truck had been stolen.

Fleeing: Nash Lane

On September 24, an officer observed four people trying to enter vehicles parked in driveways. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver fled. Soon after, the car ran off the road and the suspects fled on foot.

Aggravated menacing: Lear Nagle Road

Officers were dispatched for a disturbance on September 24. Upon arrival, a man was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing and criminal damaging. He was booked into the Lorain County Jail.

Traffic stop: Sandy Ridge Drive

Police initiated a traffic stop on September 30. The driver refused to comply and fled. After a short pursuit, the driver was arrested, handcuffed and placed in the cruiser. He was charged with wanton disregard of safety on public streets, driving under suspension and failure to comply. He also had two active warrants and pills were discovered during an inventory.

Drug overdose: Lear Nagle Road

Officers responded to an overdose on October 1. A woman was found unresponsive and given five doses of Narcan before being transported to the hospital.

Disturbance: Dogwood Lane

On October 4, police responded to a disturbance. A man near the front door had suffered a head injury and was transported to the hospital. The homeowners reported the suspect was asked to leave the residence, but he attempted to regain entry, which caused the disturbance.

Criminal damaging: Chestnut Ridge Road

A resident reported a rock thrown through the front window of the home on September 29.

Stolen vehicle: Annie Lane

A man reported on September 18 that his truck was taken by a coworker but never returned.

Drunk driving: Stoney Ridge Road

On September 26, police were dispatched for a report of a possible injury accident after a car struck a pole. An 18-year-old was transported to the hospital and cited for reasonable control and driving under the influence.

Drunk driving: Chestnut Ridge Road

Police received a report of a possible drunk driver on September 27. The suspect was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.

Drunk driving: Ohio 10

A driver was stopped for a marked lanes violation after several people called to report dangerous driving. He was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, excessive blood alcohol content and marked lanes.

Drunk driving: Avon Belden Road

On September 27, an officer responded to a non-injury crash. The at-fault driver showed signs of intoxication. She was arrested and cited for assured clear distance, operating a vehicle under the influence and excessive blood alcohol content.
