One of TV’s most beloved moms is about to become a mom in real-life! This Is Us star Mandy Moore announced on Thursday that she is pregnant. The 36-year-old actress is expecting her first child—a boy—with her husband Taylor Goldsmith.

“Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021,” the new mom-to-be captioned black and white photos of Goldsmith cradling her growing baby bump.
The couple tied the knot in a backyard ceremony at Moore’s home back in 2018. “He makes me melt. I can imagine no better partner,” she gushed to Glamour prior to her nuptials. “He’s going to be the most tremendous father. I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today. I would gladly weather all of that a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again.”
The A Walk to Remember star has spoken in the past about her desire to one day start a family. In 2017, Moore told TODAY’s Willie Geist that she’s “always wanted to be a mom.” She shared, “I think that’s definitely the next chapter for me, sooner rather than later.”
Moore, who was engaged to Goldsmith at the time, admitted to Geist that she had been “waiting for the right person and the right time.”

“Gotta figure it out with the show [This Is Us] and how I can kinda time it out correctly,” she said. “They can alter my body. I can hold a lot of bags.”
Moore previously revealed to Byrdie magazine that she’s always wanted to take care of herself before becoming pregnant. “I want to have kids in the next couple years,” she said in 2016. “I always said that I want to take care of myself to the best of my ability before I venture into that phase of my life.”
She spoke candidly about her relationship with her own mom in a recent Parade interview. “Mother-daughter dynamics are always complicated no matter how you slice it, and my mom and I are no exception,” she admitted. That may be why she most identifies with TV daughter Kate (played at different ages by Chrissy Metz, Hannah Zeile and Mackenzie Hancsicsak): “Parts of Kate’s and Rebecca’s relationship cut close to the bone for me—how Kate treats her mom, the general annoyance. I think, Oof, I don’t want to be like that! I’ll read a script and feel this need to call or text my mom out of the blue to tell her I love her and appreciate her!”
