Kathy Owens, PT

Chief of Outpatient Physical Therapy

Kathy received her PT degree from Ithaca College and has worked at the University of Rochester for more than 30 years.  Kathy is the head of our outpatient department and her clinical interests include orthopedics, voice disorders and oncology.

Joseph Griseta, PT, DPT

Senior Physical Therapist

Joe received his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from D ’Youville College and Doctor to Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University. Joe is the senior therapist at our outpatient office and has been with the University of Rochester for over 20 years, working primarily with patients with spine and orthopedic conditions.

Sherrielyn Alberto, PTA​

Sherrie graduated from SUNY Canton College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science/ Physical Therapist Assistant. She’s been working for the University since 2001. Sherrie has experience providing care for patients with various orthopedic and neurological injuries and has a certification in Myofascial Release.

Kimberly Barker, PT

Kim graduated with her PT degree from the University of Oklahoma and has been with URMC for over 20 years. Kim treats patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions as well as concussion, balance and vestibular disorders. Kim also works at our Metro Center YMCA location as our aquatic therapist.

Donald Brown, PT, DPT

Level III Physical Therapist

Don graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Health Science and combined Masters and Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy. Don has been with URMC since 2006 with a focus on general orthopedics, in particular pre and postoperative shoulder rehab.

Renee Hetzler, PT, DPT

Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy

Renee is a physical therapist who graduated from Ithaca College with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Renee specializes in the treatment of patients with neurological conditions and has obtained her Board Certification in Neurologic Physical Therapy. She has experience in acute care, inpatient rehab and outpatient settings.

Sean Kelley, PT, DPT

Sean graduated with Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Buffalo in 2011 and joined our outpatient therapy team in 2019. Sean has experience treating patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions with an interest in spine related disorders.

Emily Rector, PT, DPT

Emily is a physical therapist who graduated from Nazareth College with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Emily joined our URMC outpatient therapy team in 2019 and treats a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses with an interest in balance, concussion and vestibular disorders.

Maria Ribeiro, PTA

Maria is a physical therapy assistant who graduated from Genesee Community College with an A.A.S. degree in Physical Therapy. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Bombay University, India. She has been with URMC since 2001 and has clinical experience in varied settings including general outpatient orthopedics, neurology and inpatient rehab care.

Nicholas Rozestraten, PT, DPT

Nick received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from SUNY Upstate Medical University and joined the URMC outpatient therapy team in 2018 after working as a student in our inpatient rehab unit.  Nick treats a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions and his interests include concussion, vestibular dysfunction, amputation, post-operative rehab and orthopedic injury.

Julie Streeter, PT, DPT

Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Neurology Residency Director

Julie has been with the University since 2013 and is specialized in neurologic and stroke rehabilitation. She is board-certified in neurological physical therapy and is our Physical Therapy Neurology Residency Director.

Alison D’Angelo, PT, DPT

Alison is a pediatric physical therapist who graduated from Nazareth College with a BS in Health Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Alison joined our URMC team in 2018 with a focus on a variety of pediatric disorders across all age groups.

Krista Gehm, PT, DPT​

Krista graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Clinical Health Studies and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Krista began her career in the early intervention and preschool intervention settings and joined the URMC Pediatric therapy team in 2018.
