Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance recently announced that physical therapist Jacqueline Keating, Doctorate of Physical Therapy, joined the professional staff at the Hanover and Scituate clinics.
A resident of Weymouth, Keating is a graduate of Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire, where she received her Bachelor of Science in athletic training. At Colby-Sawyer, Keating was also a four-year member of the women’s volleyball team. She completed her post-graduate studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While attending Colby-Sawyer, Keating worked with various athletic programs within New Hampshire, including collegiate men’s and women’s basketball, collegiate women’s and men’s lacrosse and at Kearsarge Regional High School.
During her time at MCPHS, she gained experience working in a variety of settings including multiple outpatient clinics and an acute care hospital. During these clinical experiences, she was able to work with a variety of patients of all ages, including patients with various musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and developmental pathologies.
Keating was introduced to the field of physical therapy after suffering an injury of her own while playing volleyball in her sophomore year of high school. She enjoyed her time at physical therapy so much that she returned to the clinic as a clinic aide. She continued to shadow at various outpatient clinics and at South Shore Hospital to gain more experience in the field prior to starting her undergraduate studies.
Keating enjoys working with the athletic population which sparked her interest in pursuing a degree in athletic training. She also specializes in treating those with post-concussion symptoms and vestibular conditions. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time at the beach with her friends and playing indoor and outdoor volleyball at a competitive level. During the winter season, she also coaches for an elite volleyball program.
“After working here as a clinic aide, we are thrilled to welcome Jackie back as a DPT,” said Eric Edelman, founder of Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance. “She is motivated and dedicated to providing the best care to each of her patients utilizing the best available treatments. Her experience in many different settings makes her an outstanding addition to our team.”
