Zak Williams, son of the late comedian Robin Williams, married his longtime love Olivia June on Mental Health Day, which was Saturday.
Williams, a mental health advocate, and June, an entrepreneur and social scientist, celebrated their outdoor nuptials with a nod to the groom’s famous forbear and the Lewy body dementia that drove him to suicide in 2014.
Robin Williams left a powerful comedic legacy, and his death drew world attention to the ravages of Lewy body dementia, which contributed to his death at age 63.
“I had the great joy of marrying my best friend @oliviajune today!” Williams, 37, posted on Twitter, followed by the hash tag for World Mental Health Day. “It went awesome and we couldn’t have tied the knot on a better day.”
For her part, June posted on Instagram, saying, “10.10.2020 is world mental health day and @zakpym and my wedding. Hands down the best mental health decision of my life was to choose Zak.”
Already in the picture is their son, McLaurin Clement Williams, who was born on May 22 of last year and shares both a surname and middle name with his comedian grandfather, whose middle name was McLaurin.
Zak Williams was the second of Robin Williams’s children to commemorate their father on their wedding day. Cody Williams, 27, married his fiancée, Maria Flores, on July 21, 2019, on what would have been his father’s 68th birthday.
