What’s out there and where is it?
1. A broad area of low pressure is expected to form over the western Caribbean Sea in the next few days.
How likely is it to strengthen?
1. Disturbance 1: A tropical depression could form late this week or this weekend.
- Formation chance through 48 hours: near 0%
- Formation chance through 5 days: 50%
This graphic says it all. From Brownsville TX to Lubec ME, the entire stretch of coastal waters and most of the coastal counties (except W Central and SWFL) have experienced #tropical hazards. 2020 has certainly over performed and it’s not yet Oct. #flwx

Who is likely to be impacted?
It’s too early at this time to determine whether Florida will feel the impact from the system in the western Caribbean. Forecasters advise all residents to stay informed and be prepared during this very active hurricane season.
